Pole dancing isn’t just about strip clubs anymore, it’s a great way to get fit!Basic steps:1. The easy fireman. Lead with your right hand and left leg. Lock both ankles into the pole to create a contact point. Use a baseball grip with your arms and point through your toes pushing up through the balls of your feet so that you can come back to standing. 2. Leg circles into back arch. Be careful on the back arch if you have any back problems. Take a baseball grip to perform the leg circles, point your toes as you are moving round with a back arch to finish. 4. Climbing the pole, inverting into a crucifix. You need to hold on tight between the ankles and thighs on this one as you don’t want to fall off. Once you are in position, it’s a slow descent to finish the move. 5. Climbing spin. This is a little bit harder as you have to use your climbing foot with a baseball grip on the pole. More body strength is required for this one. As you can vary the speed, it’s a great move for dancing to either fast or slow songs. This AOL Show Me story was created with thanks to The Art of Dance School, Sam Remmer and Jo Turpin.
